Craniosacral therapy
What is it?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a very gentle technique that helps to align and restore the client's body to balance, so that their life energy—often referred to as the Breath of Life (chi, prana, etc.)—can flow freely and support overall health. It focuses on the craniosacral system, a network of membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. This system is closely linked to the central nervous system, and as such, it can influence a person's overall health and well-being.
How does it work?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) supports the body's natural ability to heal itself. It works with the rhythmic movements of the craniosacral system—the flow of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and spinal cord. The therapist uses gentle touches to identify any blockages or imbalances in this system and helps the body restore its natural rhythm and functionality. This therapy can influence not only the physical structures but also the energetic balance, as well as the emotional and psychological state.

How Does Craniosacral Therapy Work?
Introduction
I'll ask what brings you to me, whether you have any physical issues, and what your current challenges and topics are. We will also discuss your expectations from CST.
The Treatment
During the session, the client lies comfortably on a treatment table while the therapist uses a very gentle touch across all parts of the body—from the feet to the head—with special focus on the skull and sacrum. The goal is to tune into the craniosacral rhythm and release any tension or blockages present in the body. This therapy is extremely gentle, and clients often experience deep relaxation or a sense of lightness. The treatment itself typically lasts 60-70 minutes.
Final Sharing
After the therapy, we have a concluding discussion where the client can express what they felt during the session, what emotions arose, or what insights they gained. This sharing helps to integrate the therapeutic experience and deepen the understanding of one's body and mind.
Contraindications
Even though craniosacral therapy is very gentle, there are situations when it is not recommended:
- Acute inflammatory diseases (e.g., meningitis)
- Severe head or spinal injuries
- Recent injuries (fractures, skull injuries)
- Intracranial bleeding or blood clots
- Increased intracranial pressure
- Recent brain or spine surgeries
- Cancer or tumors
- Recent stroke (within 4 months of the event; after that, it can be beneficial)
Craniosacral therapy is ideal for those seeking a gentle and non-invasive approach to healing both body and soul. If this therapy appeals to you, please feel free to contact me for more information or to schedule an appointment.
